Andreas Raptopoulos is an inventor and entrepreneur known for founding and leading Matternet, a Silicon Valley startup that pioneered a next-generation transportation system using networks of autonomous flying vehicles. He founded FutureAcoustic, which patented a system for adaptive acoustic architecture—a technology for creating intelligent sound environments licensed to Herman Miller, Sony, and others. In 2014, at the request of the Prime Minister of Bhutan and the World Health Organization, Raptopoulos took Matternet to Bhutan to conduct field trials and begin the implementation of the first autonomous transportation network for medical goods in the world. In March 2015, Matternet announced a landmark commercial autonomous aerial vehicle.
