Julia Sagebien is an associate professor at the Faculty of Management at Dalhousie University and an adjunct professor at a number of other universities in Canada and Latin America. She has received numerous teaching excellence awards. Sagebien served as senior fellow for the Canadian Foundation for the Americas (FOCAL), a policy think tank, and for Forum Empresa, a network of hemisphere-wide corporate social responsibility (CSR) organizations. She has published extensively on the topics of Cuban political economy and economic reform, on inclusive markets, social enterprise and social economy, and on CSR in the Latin American mining sector.
